Join the SPARK team in the Keynes Lecture theatre and the Chetwynd Room for a Japanese tea ceremony and networking session with Shirley Choo.

Shirley will introduce the history, philosophy and cultural significance of the Japanese tea ceremony, as well as discussing her own work and journey with tea. Attendees will then be invited to share tea together before transitioning into a roundtable-style conversation. The session will end with informal networking.

Shirley Choo

Shirley is an Investment Director and Investment Committee Member at Convergence Partners, a Swiss investment fund focused on healthcare investing. Her experience spans investing, portfolio operations, value creation and executive leadership, having previously served as CFO and Head of Investment at Algoritmi Group, and earlier as a founding member of Stifel’s Growth Capital Investment Banking team.

For philanthropic work, she also serves as Board Director and Head of Europe for HERHealthEQ, a leading New York–based healthcare NGO, where she oversees all donor relationships across Europe. She is also executive ally of the Real mental health, world leading men's mental health organisation.

Outside of her investment work, Shirley is a long-term practitioner of cultural arts — including Chadō (tea ceremony), Ikebana (flower arrangement), Pilates, and Piano — disciplines that shape her approach to presence, precision, and long-term value creation.
