Speaker Bios
Jenny Ward-George currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Master of the Royal Household, where she advises on a broad spectrum of internal and external matters and leads the planning and execution of various strategic initiatives across the Household. Before joining the Royal Household, Jenny was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, specialising in strategy and transformation within the public and social sectors. Examples of her work have included designing an innovation hub in Kyiv to support post-conflict recovery, developing strategic frameworks for an NGO responding to the Morocco earthquake, and helping to build a green financing platform aimed at scaling sustainable businesses in East Africa.
Jenny transitioned to McKinsey following her PhD at Peterhouse, Cambridge, where she focused on “Humanitarian Sheltering: Analysing Global Structures of Aid.” Her research took a systems-thinking approach to examine decision-making in humanitarian shelter responses following conflict and disaster-induced displacement. During her doctoral studies, Jenny was also appointed Design Fellow for the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851. In this role, she collaborated with senior teams from UNHCR, IFRC, and IOM in Geneva and Canada to develop a digital platform that aimed to improve information-sharing in humanitarian shelter operations.
