PAST EVENT: E-Lab Annual Dinner

Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our alumni, we have been able to establish a number of ambitious initiatives to help students gain entrepreneurial skills and explore careers in innovation and business, while keeping our social, ethical, and environmental responsibility at the heart of everything we do.

Established in September 2021 thanks to a generous donation from Malcolm McKenzie (KC 1977), the Entrepreneurship Lab (E-Lab) is designed to support those wishing to explore a career path in innovation and business.

The E-Lab offers a year-long programme for King’s students, starting before the academic year (happening right now) with an intensive residential week and then providing them with mentoring and practical advice throughout the year, culminating in the opportunity to receive seed-funding to take their ideas forward.

The E-Lab’s activities also include an Entrepreneur-in-Residence scheme, a four-year Research Fellowship in Entrepreneurship, a number of visiting entrepreneurs, an exciting programme of guest lectures, workshops and webinars, and other activities more broadly within King’s College and the wider Collegiate University.

Having completed its first year of activity, we are excited to have just received a very generous gift from David Sainsbury (KC 1959) and the Gatsby Charitable Foundation to help expand the activities of the King’s Entrepreneurship Lab for the next ten years. Among the tangible benefits of the new gift will be the creation of Research Fellowships in Entrepreneurship and the enhancement of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence scheme and much more.

This evening is an opportunity for us to thank the people involved with entrepreneurship at King's: our alumni, the Entrepreneurship Prize Judges, the E-Lab Senior Advisory Board Members, former and current King's Entrepreneurship Prize winners, our incoming cohort of E-Lab programme students, our E-Lab Associates, Entrepreneur in Residence, Fellows, and all those who have helped us over the last year.
