Yau Ben-Or is CEO and Co-founder of Rural Senses - “One to Watch” in this year’s StateUp 21
Yau has over 7 years of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams in multinational projects. Prior to co-founding Rural Senses, he worked as a project manager for MobileODT to improve global health and founded SolarChange to promote renewable energies. Yau holds an MPhil in Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge.
Rural Senses is a social enterprise that helps project developers to understand rural community needs and evaluate project impact efficiently and accurately using AI-enhanced data analysis and user-centric data collection

Annette Jezierska
Annette Jezierska is the Co-founder and CEO of The Future Fox - member of this year’s StateUp 21
Jezierska is a leading entrepreneur and expert in advancing major sustainable transport infrastructure. Before founding The Future Fox in 2017, she previously helped peak recycling rates through public engagement for Westminster City Council. She is an NIC Young Professionals Panellist and holds an MSci in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
The Future Fox is a technology company with a social mission to accelerate the development of smart, sustainable and people-focused places. The Future Fox works across urban planning use cases, using its platform PlaceBuilder, to help enable community feedback to planning applications.

Dr. Kamiar Mohaddes
Dr. Kamiar Mohaddes is Co-director of King’s Entrepreneurship Lab and Associate Professor in Economics & Policy at the Cambridge Judge Business School.
Kamiar’s main areas of research are applied macroeconomics, global and national macroeconometric modelling, energy economics, and climate change. He is an Economic Research Forum (ERF) Research Fellow, and serves as its Thematic Co-Leader for the macroeconomics theme. He is also an Associate Researcher at the Energy Policy Research Group (EPRG) at the University of Cambridge, an Associate Fellow of the USC Dornsife Institute for New Economic Thinking, a Research Associate at the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis at ANU in Australia.
King’s Entrepreneurship Lab equips students with entrepreneurial skills and supports those wishing to explore a career path in innovation, entrepreneurship and business.

We envision this session to be an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals aiming to work in public-purpose technology to learn from leading startup founders.
