Annette L. Nazareth serves as the Chair of the Integrity Counsel for the Voluntary Carbon Market (Integrity Council), an independent governance body for the voluntary carbon market that evolved from the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets (TSVCM), where she served as Operating Lead.

Annette has devoted significant attention to virtually all aspects of the Integrity Council’s workstreams, and has represented the Integrity Council in venues across the globe. Annette has decades of experience in financial services regulation and corporate governance. She currently serves as Senior Counsel at the global law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, having previously served as a Partner of the firm and managing partner of the Washington DC office. Annette also led the firm’s Trading and Markets practice. She was a key player in U.S. financial services regulation for nearly a decade, most notably as a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and as the SEC’s Director of the Division of Trading and Markets.
