PAST EVENT: Workshop and Brunch with Boon Seng Pui and Max Patacchiola on WorldCoin

Workshop and Brunch with Boon Seng Pui and Max Patacchiola on WorldCoin

You are warmly invited to the fourth event in the series of Weekly Brunches aimed at providing students with guidance, connections, and support in bringing their ideas to life over the year. The Cambridge Blockchain Society and King's e-lab will offer publication, hackathon, incubation, or other implementation opportunities to the best projects.

This week, we will be hosting Boon Seng Pui and Max Patacchiola building technology for Worldcoin co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

Worldcoin is a decentralised digital identification platform that aims to provide every person with a convenient way to verify their authenticity as a real human, distinguishing them from bots or AI algorithms. The ultimate goal is to create a global financial and identity network based on proof of personhood.

Boon and Max will explain the concept and implications of decentralized identity from philosophical, economic, and technical perspectives. This workshop is suitable for students from all backgrounds who are interested in exploring what appears to be the next level of the imitation game.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Cambridge Blockchain Society.
